Polaroid Instant Cameras are the kind of things you can't tell why people still are using them after all the years. You see, the pictures sure are not as neat and clear as the new digital cameras, but surely, they produce a feeling that you can't have with the modern cameras.
I myself recently bought an old Polaroid One Step Camera, Sears Special Edition. I'm waiting to receive the films that I ordered separately and then I'll be all set to take sweet shots from my entourage, landscape,etc. The polaroids were pretty limited from the technical point of view. For example, the camera I just bought needs to have flash bars attached to it in order to produce a flash haha. You might be wondering why am I using this device and why did I just bought one... The answer is simple, with this camera, every pictures feel special and you can take a picture and instantly have it in your hands a moment after.
BUT, you need to be careful on how you're gonna take the picture. First of all, when you're taking a colored pictures, it's recommended that you develop the picture in a dark area. Otherwise, the sun or the brightness might affect your polaroid film and the picture will be fading a bit. And let's face it, the films are so expensive (I recently bought 24 films for 50$ US)... you really want to make each shot counts. Not only for the price, but every picture that you will take can be used as a great piece to remember a specific moment.
Another useful tip I could give you is not to shake the picture.... I know, I know. Myself included we've all heard that if you shake the photo it will develop faster. That's not true at all. As opposite to the popular belief, if you shake the photo too firmly, you might damaged the picture and not have the result you were hoping for.
Finally, don't forget that you should take your time for every shots you wanna take (this tip is good not only for polaroids, but for everything in photography). Don't rush it. Like I said earlier, the films are very expensive these days and it's better to take your time and take an amazing shot, then ruin one... You'll be disappointed in the long run, trust me. ;)
